Owner / Artist | The visionary behind Garnish Extension Studio, Candice knew at a very early age that she wanted to work in the beauty industry. She fell in love with self-expression through fashion and hair, and recognized how loving the way you looked could change the way you felt. She went to Cosmetology School as soon as she finished high school, and began her career at Mitchells in Raleigh. For a decade she worked behind the chair, constantly hungry for more knowledge and growth as a stylist, knowing she could do more beyond the limits of her current salon.
During her time at Mitchells, she found the world of hair extensions and began her journey towards learning everything she possibly could within the extensions realm. After ten years at Mitchells, she decided to venture out on her own. Over the next few years she worked within her own space, and then at another studio, Shag & Garnish, which ultimately ended up closing abruptly just over four years ago.
With that turn of events, Candice knew it was time to delve into her dream of building her own salon space, and thus Garnish Hair Studio was born.
Over the past eight years, Garnish has transformed and grown, and Candice has continued to hone her expertise in hair extensions, adding new certifications, and forging a new connection with extensions brands as a trainer for Natural Beaded Rows, the Director of Education for Covet + Mane extension hair brand, and by launching her own intensive shadowing education, EVOLVE.
Candice continues to work behind the chair three days a week, as creating transformations is her first true passion, however, she has also dedicated time to another passion: education. Knowing she wanted to give back to the next generation of stylists, Candice created an Academy within Garnish in order to train extension specialists after they graduate from Cosmetology School.
In addition to her Garnish life, she is a mom of two littles, avid fashionista, and is all about a fitness journey. To keep up-to-date with all things “Mot”, subscribe to her blog.
