Fare Thee Well, Ray – Thank you for 5 strong years!

Saying good-bye is never easy, especially for someone as beloved as our front desk guru and main man of Garnish, Ray. If you’ve been seeing Candice for more than the past couple of years, you know that Ray has been a part of Garnish before Garnish even existed on its own.

He started working with Candice when she had her own studio, and in those days he not only answered the phone and booked appointments, but he became known as a shampoo god and assistant extraordinaire.

Ray was with Candice throughout the entire process of building Garnish and opening the studio, and he helped establish the exceptional level of service that has come to be known as the “Garnish Experience.”

While thank you doesn’t seem to quite cover the gratitude we feel towards having Ray as a part of the Garnish team for so long, we appreciate everything he has contributed to help make Garnish what it is today.

His personality, the goofy fun he brings to the studio, and the level of care for each and every guest will all be dearly missed by the entire Garnish community. Even though we will miss Ray, we are so excited for him to move into a career that fits his talents and interests with technology.

A Message from Ray to the Garnish Community:

“If you’re brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello.”
-Paulo Coelho

It’s difficult to even begin writing this, but as I have been very transparent to our guests, I will remain consistent to that. Some of you may have noticed that I have not been present at the front desk as often as you have been used to. My time at Garnish Hair Studio is coming to it’s bittersweet conclusion – as I make way for a new path and a new journey.

I am so very grateful for the chance to work for such a great company. Candice offered me a spot on her team early on with Garnish and how could I say no? She saw something in me and noticed how well received I was when it came to her guests. I don’t think I could ever repay Candice for what she has provided and made possible for me in my own life(Thanks lady!). I am glad to say that I had a hand in shaping the culture that so many people now enjoy day in and day out at the salon.

While Candice guided and supported me, I hope that I succeeded in guiding and supporting our guests in terms of experiencing the very best of what we could offer. As much as I gave to every person that has walked into the door, I have been given so much more from each of you. I cherish every conversation, compliment, and piece of advice that you all were so kind to share with me. Above all, I cherish the friendships I’ve made with our guests. You truly made each day rewarding and memorable. It has been an absolute pleasure serving each of you!

As for my team, I love you guys. As grown as I’d like to think I am, you have helped keep me humble while also supporting my growth. You were never afraid to ask me for help or ask if you could help me in anyway. We’ve shared so many stories, conversations, and laughs through the years. I am honored to have served next to each of you. I want to you know that you have inspired me in so many ways that I couldn’t possibly list them here.

It’s not so much “Goodbye” as it is “See y’all later”. My beautiful wife Christine, is still very much a stylist here at Garnish. That said, you will most definitely still see my face from time to time! We will keep you guys updated with what is going on. I love each and every one of you. Thank you for all of the great times and giving me the bravery it requires to do this. Talk to you later!
